# What is Sanko?

Sanko is an [Arbitrum Orbit Layer 3](https://docs.arbitrum.io/launch-orbit-chain/orbit-gentle-introduction) designed to bring the internet of value to the golden days of gaming. Sanko’s subcent transaction fees, 250ms transaction finality, and superior developer tooling make it the ideal infrastructure layer to enable gamers to participate and seamlessly transact in in-game economies — the natural evolution of a passion shared by millions. As it matures, Sanko will evolve into a console on which diverse projects host games that can interoperate in ways not possible in traditional video game publishing platforms.

Sanko was created by Sanko GameCorp©, the on-chain game studio behind The Dream Machine and Sanko.TV. In addition to titles deployed by Sanko GameCorp, independent game developers will be incentivized to deploy their titles to Sanko.
